Abstract This paper summarized the teaching experiences and exploration of the full English course "Principles of Catalysis Ⅱ" under the mode of virtual-parallel-class. By building the virtual-parallel-class, the individual differences of students in English levels could be effectively reduced. The introduction of micro-course videos further improved the teaching efficiency of the virtual-parallel-class mode. Results showed that the leading role of teachers in the instruction of graduate professional courses was indispensable. However, the depth and broadness of the teaching content could be enhanced by innovating the organization of classes. By combining the construction of virtual-parallel-class with the innovation of class organization and the evaluation method, a full English course targeted at cultivating the self-study ability of graduates was realized.
