Abstract This paper analysed several methods and conditions of dehydration from common hydrated metal halides for preparing anhydrous metal halides. These methods included dehydration by heating, dehydration by heating under a protective gas or vacuum, preparing double salt and then dehydration by heating, dehydration with dehydration agent and dehydration with organic coordinate solvent.
