Abstract How to guarantee the teaching quality of organic chemistry in the context of reducing class and not reducing the teaching effect is one of the problems to be solved. It is very common in college organic chemistry that different reactions go through the same progress, such as Friedel-Crafts (alkylation and acylation) reaction, halogenating reaction, sulfonation reaction, nitration reaction and Hoesch reaction have the same electrophilic substitution mechanism. This paper showed the teaching design of electrophilic substitution reaction based on mechanism that required less time. At the same time this paper summarized a learning suggestion about the electrophilic substitution reactions.
