Abstract This paper analyzed the new curriculum standard and students' cognitive development, constructed the concrete concept involved material change in elementary school based on the 3 stages of cognitive development. At the same time, this paper discussed how to construct activities in-class to promote students' cognitive development and put forward some suggestions for elementary school science teaching.
