Abstract The preparation methods of acetophenone in organic chemistry experiment were improved. During the after-treatment, adding ice-water mixture together with stirring replaced adding hydrochloric acid. During the extraction process, ethyl acetate replaced poisonous benzene. During the purification process, flash chromatography replaced distillation under reduced pressure. The improvement can reduce the usage of poisonous reagent and environmental pollution, and enhance students' manipulative ability and experiment skill.
