Synthesis of Pillar [6]Arenes and Its Applications in Molecular Recognition
Pillar [n]arenes are a new class of macrocyclic host compounds, which have attracted much attention in the field of supramolecular chemistry in recent years. Compared with pillar [5]arenes, pillar [6]arenes have the larger cavity structure and show extraordinary host-guest properties. In this paper, it is aimed to introduce the structure and conformation of pillar [6]arenes, to mainly elaborate the research progress in the synthesis and application in molecular recognition of pillar [6]arenes in recent years.
Brief Introduction of Non-Canonical Amino Acid Incorporation Technique for Introduction of Lysine Post-Translational Modifications into Proteins
An increasing amount of protein lysine post-translational modifications (PTMs) have been gradually discovered recently. Besides their wide existence, these modifications play significant regulatory functions over chromatin structure and gene expression. However, it has been proved difficult to prepare sufficient amount of proteins with PTMs at specific positions, which makes the development of methodology to be an important sub-field for epigenetics. This paper will focus on the introduction of non-canonical amino acid incorporation technique and its application for the incorporation of lysine PTMs. We hope it can contribute to further chemistry major education and research in route.

Meaning and Application of Chemical Potential in Physical Chemistry
In this paper, the concept of chemical potential is explained in detail, and the application of the chemical potential criterion in such processes as diffusion, phase change, permeation and chemical change is illustrated with both explanations and pictures. By these, the meaning of the "trend/potential" in the trend of change of chemical processes is fully explained.
Teaching Design and Practice of Expanding Knowledge in Inorganic Chemistry
Because of the following problems existing in the learning process of freshmen, such as slack thinking, non-active learning, slow change in learning methods, and lack of professional knowledge, the expanding knowledge is classified according to the characteristics of the teaching content of inorganic chemistry. The guidance of strengthening study interests is strengthen through practical phenomena teaching, and the depth of knowledge understanding is strengthen through practical cases teaching; intensive knowledge is strengthen through practical application teaching, and the understanding and memory of dull theoretical knowledge is strengthen through image metaphor teaching. Expanding knowledge and classroom theoretical knowledge are organically integrated and then theory and practice are connected.
Comprehensive Research Experiment: Synthesis, Characterization, and Catalytic Activity of Nano-sized TS-1 Zeolite
Introducing a comprehensive research experiment, synthesis, characterization and catalytic activiry of nano-sized TS-1 zeolite under hydrothermal conditions. The nano-sized titanosilicate TS-1 zeolite was prepared with MFI topology under hydrothermal conditions. The prepared sample was characterized with X-ray diffractions, UV-Vis spectroscopy, N2 adsorption-desorption, as well as the TEM measurements. Furthermore, oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene was performed to evaluated the catalytic activity of the nano-sized TS-1 zeolite.

Micro Experiment of Ultrasonic-Assisted Determination of Equilibrium Constant of I3-=I-+I2
"Determination of equilibrium constant of I3-=I-+I2" is an important inorganic chemistry experiment in college study. Conventionally, a large amount of iodine was required to finish this experiment with a long dispersion shaking process. Thus, residual iodine volatilized into the air and is harmful to the environment and the researchers. In this work, we successfully shortened the dispersion shaking time using ultrasonic-assisted method and saved 90% of the necessary reagents. After 5 minutes' dispersion, the calculated equilibrium constant was 1.54×10-3 and the relative error was 2.67%. Our results indicated that this novel method could be a potential optimization to current experiment.
Differentiation of Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate Solution by Thymol Blue
Based on the basic difference of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate solution, a method is designed to fast, conveniently and effectively identify sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate solution, using the appropriate dosage of thymol blue alcohol solution. This method possesses the following advantages:obvious experimental phenomenon, strong reliability, good reproducibility, high success rate. It can be used in food, drug testing and other technical fields.
Improvement of College Students' Scientific Writing Skill Through Reformation of Chemistry Experimental Reports
The undergraduate students in China have numerous problems in scientific writing, including inappropriate data analysis, confusion of logics, and inaccurate writing formats. The improvements to these problems need long term practices. Base on this, the author started a reformation of chemistry experimental reports using Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry Experiment course as an example. Through the reformation based on three different writing styles, the students gained better understanding of experimental course and improved their scientific writing skills. This reformation can be further generalized to other experimental courses, in order to improve the undergraduate student's scientific writing skills in an accumulative manner. There so, the students can accomplish high-standard final-year thesis. This will solidify their scientific writing skills and help them to fit in new works or further studies well.
Improved Experimental Protocol in Synthesis of p-Nitrobenzoic Acid
The preparation of p-nitrobenzoic acid is a typical representative of oxidation reaction in organic chemistry lab teaching. Different synthesis conditions were examined to increase the yield of p-nitrobenzoic acid and simplify the post-processing steps. The effects of reaction time, reaction temperature and phase transfer catalyst on the yield of p-nitrobenzoic acid were investigated. Results showed that the yield of p-nitrobenzoic acid increased significantly following modification of reaction conditions, including type of oxidant, adding phase transfer catalyst and changing the feeding method. The yield of p-nitrobenzoic acid, under optimized conditions, was increased by 16.8% when compared with classical experimental protocol used in textbook.
PLC-Based PCK Development of Full-Time Master of Education Pre-Service Chemistry Teachers: A Case Study of Teaching Practice on “Ionic Reaction”
This study is an exploratory case study, which aims to explore the PCK development of full-time master of education pre-service chemistry teachers when experienced three different stages of PLC intervention, and then, to discuss the rationality of the current PLC intervention model. One of those full-time master of education pre-service chemistry teacher was selected as a typical case to present her PCK development of teaching "ionic reaction" by collecting multiple data sources. Park and Oliver (2008)'s Pentagon model of PCK structure was used to analyze the data. The main findings of this study indicated that the PCK structure as well as the connection of PCK elements were improved better and better after three stages of PLC intervention; Different stages of PLC intervention could effect on PCK development of those pre-service chemistry teacher but in different way and degree. Although PLC intervention can promote their PCK development, we also should pay great attention on the mechanism of PLC model, and further research on the duration and stability of their PCK development.

Relationship Between Electrolytic Conductivity and Molar Conductivity to Electrolytic Concentration
Depending on the physical meaning of electrolytic conductivity and molar conductivity, the relationship between electrolytic conductivity and molar conductivity to the electrolyte concentration was analyzed by simple calculation. The relationship between the number of conductive ions and electrolytic solution concentration or ionization degree was determined. The method is simple and clear, so that the students can understand easily and meet the teaching requirements.
Discussion on Structures and Acidity of Seven Oxoacids
The oxoacid is an important content of inorganic chemistry course. The structures and acidity of oxoacids such as sulfurous acid, boric acid, hypophosphorous acid, phosphorous acid, bromic acid, bromous acid, and carbonic acid were discussed in this paper. The investigation indicates:(1) Two isomers exist in SO2 solution. (2)The Lewis acid and Brönsted acid forms of boric acid under different conditions were found. (3)Hypophosphorous acid, phosphorous acid, bromic acid, and bromous acid tend to isomerize. (4)Carbonic acid has some dynamic stability under certain conditions.
