Abstract Based on the basic difference of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate solution, a method is designed to fast, conveniently and effectively identify sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate solution, using the appropriate dosage of thymol blue alcohol solution. This method possesses the following advantages:obvious experimental phenomenon, strong reliability, good reproducibility, high success rate. It can be used in food, drug testing and other technical fields.
