Comparison of Chemical Engineering Safety Education Between China and the United States

Abstract In view of the development of chemical engineering safety education in China and the United States, this paper compares the differences of educational background, program and curriculum and teaching resources between the two countries. The results show that China is deficient in process safety education for undergraduates of chemical engineering. Some measures were put forward to promote the development of undergraduate education of chemical engineering safety in China, which includes strengthening the safety culture education, promoting certification of chemical engineering program, and improving the industrial background of the faculties.
