Abstract Wonderful world of chemistry is a general selective course for the non-chemical major undergraduates of Tianjin Normal University. The course is mainly focused on the modern active research areas and realities of life by adopting a heuristic, case-based, and interactive blended teaching mode. It used a variety of methods such as image display, video display, discussion, questionnaire, which could arouse students' enthusiasm and initiative to master the course in a relaxed state. Furthermore, it combined knowledge, practicability and interests, avoiding the tedious description of complicated chemical structure.
