Abstract This paper conducted classroom inquiry activities on a practical problem in the teacher's daily life, revealed the reasons for the disappearance of purplish red pigment in steamed twisted rolls with red pitaya juice. In the process of autonomous, cooperative, open and in-depth learning, the class cultivated student's problem consciousness and inquiring abilities, and aroused their curiosity as well as inquiry interests of problems related to chemistry. During the process of practical problems solving, the class developed students' chemical thinking methods and discipline core literacy.
