Abstract To train applied and creative talents, the problems in the teaching of chemical engineering cartography were analyzed,and a series of measures with respect to teaching contents, teaching mode, teaching staff and examining method were put forward, and the teaching system of chemical engineering cartography were restructured. Actual practice demonstrated that the new teaching system aroused the students' interests in studying, improved the students' spatial configuration and drawing ability, enhanced the ability of innovative practice and independent study, and achieved better teaching results.
