Recent Advances in Simulated Moving Bed Chromatography
In this paper, the development courses of simulated moving bed chromatography(SMB) are introduced. The operation modes of simulated moving bed chromatography are summarized including sequential simulated moving bed and Varicol. New types of simulated moving bed chromatographic reactors are discussed. The applications of SMB are reviewed in sugar alcohol separation and chiral drugs separation. The research direction and development trend of simulated moving bed chromatography are prospected.
Phase Diagram and Phase Boundary Theory of Two Component System
This paper mainly discusses the phase diagram in two component system, such as gas-liquid phase diagram, liquid-solid phase diagrams. The classification, mapping and phase diagrams analysis of two component phase diagram are summarized. It is helpful to understand and grasp the basic rules of the phase diagram. And briefly introduces the boundary theory of phase diagram. Thermodynamic study of phase diagrams is extended.

Direct Resolution of Enantiomers of D,L-Alanine by Paper Chromatography with Vancomycin as Impregnating Agent
In this work, we confirm that direct resolution of enantiomers for D,L-alanine can be achieved on paper using vancomycin as chiral impregnating reagent. The effects of the ratio of mobile phase, concentration of chiral selector had been studied in details. Thus, the technique reported here is flexible, simple, direct and economical, and may become the facile method compared with other chromatographic techniques towards fast routine analysis. It is therefore suitable for experimental teaching and industrial applications.
Teaching Reform of Instrumental Analysis Experiment Based on Integration of Production, Learning, Research and Application
Instrumental analysis experiment course plays a very important role in the university chemistry experiment curriculum. The integrated teaching mode of production, learning, research and application in College of Chemistry, Jilin University is a typical mode of instrumental analysis experiment course. In this paper, several aspects of instrumental analysis experiment curriculum in Jilin University were analyzed and discussed, for instance, the reform and exploration of experiment teaching contents, the construction and practice of experiment teaching platform, teaching equipment research and development, teaching methods and curriculum design, and education and operation mechanism.
Improvement of Iodine Solution Preparation
A simple method for the preparation of iodine standard solution was proposed. Iodine disproportionation was completed in strong alkaline environment quickly, inverse-disproportionation of mixed solution occurred in strong acid environment when potassium iodide as a co-solvent and the iodine standard solution was then obtained after standing 36 h. Sodium thiosulfate calibration and vitamin C determination were performed to explore the accuracy of iodine solution concentration. The concentration stability of iodine standard solution was discussed also. The rusults showed that the method have many advantages, such as simple, easy to operate, high accuracy, long storage time, calibration error is less than 0.1% and analysis deviation of samples is less than 0.2%.
A Research-Oriented Comprehensive Chemistry Experiment of Preparation of Naphthothiazole Derivatives by Manganese Acetate
A research-oriented comprehensive chemistry experiment of preparation of 2-o-chlorobenzamido naphtho[1,2-d]thiazole by manganese acetate(Ⅲ) is introduced. The self-prepared manganese acetate(Ⅲ) as catalyst is applied for catalyzing 1-naphthyl-3-o-chlorobenoylthiourea to synthesize 2-o-chlorobenzamido naphtho[1,2-d]thiazole. Through this experiment teaching, students can master the synthesis methods of the manganese acetate(Ⅲ), 1-naphthyl-3-o-chlorobenoylthiourea and 2-o-chlorobenzamido naphtho[1,2-d]thiazole, and can grasp general methods of organic compounds' structure characterization. It is more important that the experiment teaching can cultivate students' practical ability, research and creative ability, and students' comprehensive ability to use knowledge. This experiment gathers inorganic synthesis experiment, organic synthesis experiment and instrumental analysis experiment, and has good operability and practicability. It can be established as a research-oriented comprehensive chemical experiment or open experiment.
Improvement on Preparation Experiment of Acetanilide
The preparation of acetanilide is an organic chemistry experiment for the sophomore students in our university. The yields vary widely and are often low when the reactions are simply stopped on the basis of the reaction phenomenon or the reaction time when the conventional method is used. Hence, TLC monitoring is employed and the reaction is reproducible and the yields usually maintain high. The product is characterized by qualitative and quantitative analysis with internal standard by NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy.The students' motivation on the research is improved by the modification of the current experiment.The improved methods can be popularized in the undergraduate experiment.
Competition System of Chemistry Teaching Skills on “Four Levels and Four Dimensions”
In order to stimulate the pre-service teachers' learning interests and promot the development of teachers' professional skills, we constructed a "four levels and four dimensions" competition practice system relying on the competition mechanism, at first, integrating teaching skills into a four dimensional skills of "basic skills, teaching skills, comprehensive skills and professional skills", then carrying on the four levels competition of "college level, university level, provincial level and national level". This is helpful to improve the pre-service teachers' teaching ability, practical ability and innovative ability.
Construction and Practice of a New System of Academic Evaluation Based on Assessment for Learning in Medicinal Chemistry of Higher Vocational Colleges
In order to improve the teaching effect of pharmaceutical chemistry,a new system of academic evaluation based on assessment for learning was constructed and practiced during the whole course teaching.The evaluation results were also presented to guide and facilitate subsequent teaching activities. Results showed that the study time, study content and academic performance of students were much higher than that before, and the new measures were highly recognized by students.This new system of academic evaluation not only can greatly stimulate students' study power,improve teacher's classroom teaching,enhance students' academic level,but also are welcomed by the students.

Application of Enantiomeric Separation of Ibuprofen by UPC2 in Experiment Teaching
UPC2 chiral separation method for the enantiomers of ibuprofen was established. The optimal separation condition for ibuprofen was obtained by researching on the effects of the composition of mobile phase, temperature and back pressure. It was first applied in the teaching process of instrumental analysis experiment for medical laboratory students. Students can not only master a new chromatographic technology, but also understand knowledge of advanced instruments and advanced technology.The experiment teaching become an effective way for students to learn knowledge and cultivate innovative ability.

Introducing an Undergraduate Experiment Abroad: The Olfactory Sense Investigation of the Esterification Reaction
This paper introduced a chemistry major undergraduate experiment abroad to investigate the esterification reaction via the olfactory sense. In this experiment, the change of smell between starting material and product was applied as a novel and convenient indicator of the extent of a certain organic reaction. The background, principle, design and result analysis of the experiment were introduced, hoping to provide helpful insight and experience in how to introduce the smell test into the Chinese organic experiment education.
Statistical Analysis of Chemical History Literatures in Chinese Journal of Chemical Education
This study is based on the articles from the column of the History of Chemistry and Chemical History Education in Chinese Journal of Chemical Education from 2007 to 2016. We made statistical analysis in three major areas:the content and the amount of papers, the authors, and the citation situation. From three aspects, we analyzed the trend and the weakness of study of the chemistry history education. Furthermore, we provided some suggestions.
