Abstract Through a case study of the synthesis of butyl benzoate, the flipped classroom teaching mode was employed for undergraduate students in the organic chemistry experiment course. An effective way of flipping the classroom was realized via preparing the learning resources by the teachers,self-motivated learning by the students such as initiative class participation, feedback. By doing so, the learning enthusiasm of students was aroused with higher teaching efficiency. Moreover, the combination of information technology and conventional teaching promoted the advancement of teaching skills.
