Construction and Teaching of Supramolecular Chemistry Course

Abstract The teaching of supramolecular chemistry has been carried out in Jilin University for more than 20 years, complementing each other with the research works of the State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structures and Materials. In this paper, the purpose, the design of teaching contents and the reference books, as well as the teaching methods and mode during the developing of the supramolecular chemistry were introduced, furthermore, this paper showed that the curricula construction and the teaching practice of supramolecular chemistry in College of Chemistry, Jilin University. Through this course, the students will be able to understand well the history of supramolecular chemistry and master well the basic concepts and main research directions of supramolecular chemistry. At the same time, the purpose of scientific research and thinking methods are introduced to cultivate the interests of students in scientific research.
