Abstract On the basis of scientific research practices, the novel deep eutectic solvent triethylamine/salicylic acid,[TEA] [OHBA]2, was designed and synthesized. The structure of[TEA] [OHBA]2 was confirmed by using infrared spectroscopy, and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The physical and chemical properties, including the thermal stability, fluorescence, viscosity, and density, were determined. The formation of[TEA] [OHBA]2 mainly depends on hydrogen bonds between TEA and OHBA.[TEA] [OHBA]2 has broad application potential in environmental analysis and medical fields. This experiment is based on previous scientific research, and involves integrated chemical synthesis, structural characterization, and performance testing. Therefore, this applied and research-based work is advanced, cross-disciplinary, and comprehensive. The introduction of the experiment can improve the level of comprehensive experimental knowledge and interest for students, and it is conducive to cultivating the students' innovation, and improving their abilities.
