Abstract This paper introduced a comprehensive inorganic chemistry experiment, which integrated lab skills in inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry and instrument analysis. Zinc gluconate was prepared by different methods and its composition was analyzed. From the experiment, the students could master the basic lab skills such as evaporation, concentration, filtration and crystallization, learn the principle and operation of complexometric titration, and understand the infrared spectrum detection method and spectrum analysis. After preparing the products by different methods in groups, the students discussed and explored the experimental results. They compared the different preparation methods and solve the doubts in the experimental process. The comprehensive experimental ability of the junior undergraduates was enhanced.
