Abstract The comprehensive experiment for college students entitled "the synthesis of bismuth oxycarbonate (Bi2O2CO3) and photocatalytic degradation for organic dyes" is recommended. Through the experiments, students can learn not only the synthesis methods and the characterizations of structures and morphologies of the photocatalytic materials, but also the photocatalytic mechanism of photocatalyst and the photocatalytic experimental process. While mastering the basic theory and experimental skills, students can be trained in the ability of thinking independently, analyzing and solving problems, and especially comprehensively applying their knowledge.
