Abstract A comprehensive chemistry experiment was introduced. Caffeine was extracted from tea with 95% ethanol by Soxhlet extractor, the content of caffeine was determined by UPC2, and the structure was characterized by melting point determination and 1H-NMR attribution analysis. This experiment combines classical organic chemistry experiments with advanced analytical and testing instruments, that can improve students' experimental comprehensive ability, and stimulate students' interests in scientific research and exploration spirit.
