Precious Radioactive Element: Thorium
Thorium is a naturally radioactive element which is always associated with rare earth elements. The discovery, recovery and purification, physical and chemical properties of thorium and its application are introduced briefly.
Survey on Anti-Influenza Drug Synthesis
Influenza (flu) is a highly contagious disease that spreads rapidly and poses a serious threat to human health. In order to protect human health and resist the invasion of the flu virus, scientists have been working on the research and discovery of new anti-influenza drugs. This review focuses on the synthesis of anti-influenza virus drugs that have been marketed and anti-influenza inhibitors at the development stage. It also provides reference for synthetic process research and novel anti-influenza drugs development.

Comprehensive Experimental Ability Assessment Platform Based on Synthesizing and Pour Point Depressant Performance Evaluation of Polyacrylate
A comprehensive experiment consisting of four modules, determination of saturated hydrocarbon content and carbon number distribution in diesel oil, synthesis and purification of polyacrylic acid higher alcoholic ester (PTA), infrared characterization and molecular weight determination of PTA, and evaluation of PTA pour point depressant performance, was designed to serve as a platform for examination and achievement evaluation of chemical experiments. This kind of examination combines the check of process and result, and combines the written examination, operation and design. It can examine the students' basic experimental skills such as organic synthesis, instrumental analysis comprehensively and accurately. In addition, it can effectively train students' learning ability, problem-solving ability, practical ability and innovative ability, and promote the level of experimental teaching.

Applicability of Simple Purge and Trap Device in Chemistry Experiment Teaching
For determination of trace volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in water, purge and trap was a commonly used pretreatment technique to concentrate and seperate the target organic compounds in order to reach the detection limit of subsequent analytical instruments. Purge and trap device was usually too expensive to be universally equiped in analytical chemistry and environmental monitoring teaching experiments. In this paper, a modified simple purge and trap device was introduced, and its working principle was displayed. The modified device replaced the conventional adsorbent trap with cold organic solvent trap and simplified the experiment process. The application of this device on the pretreatment of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in water showed that it was simple to operate, displayed the working mechanism clearly, and obtained accurate data. It could effectively enhance students to understand the techniques of purge and trap.

Engineering Project of Carbon Capture Technology Used for Inorganic Chemistry Teaching for Environmental Specialty
Engineering projects can be used for inorganic chemistry teaching of environmental specialty against the background of engineering education. In this paper, the application of chemical absorption in carbon capture technology was studied as an example for the engineering project. The knowledge of acid-base theory, chemometrics, chemical thermodynamics, and chemical kinetics in this course, was used for the solutions of some key issues in carbon capture technology, such as the selections of the absorbent and the desorption method, and the methods of improving the absorption capacity and the absorption rate. In addition, it helps the student think like an engineer, master the preliminary scientific research method, and enhance the ability for analyzing and solving the related problems.
Mathematical Expression and Visualization of the Atomic Orbital
Gaussian basis sets are popularly used in quantum chemistry. But it is the Slater-type functions which described the single-electron wave function more exactly. This article introduces the differences between them and explains the reason why Gaussian basis sets are employed more popularly. At the same time when introduce these concepts, the functions are also plotted by the gnuplot which is a free software for visualizing functions. The codes are also provided for students to better understanding the physical concepts and the abstract mathematics functions.
Design and Implementation of Simulation Experiment About Determination of the Activity of Glutamate-Pyruvate Transaminase (GPT) Based on Flash
In order to enable students to understand the experimental principles and operation process and to learn biochemistry experiment, the simulation experiment animation of liver glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) activity was designed and produced by using Flash software. Based on the sceneries such as experimental principles, operation demonstration and learning test, with vivid molecular structure image, realistic experimental phenomenon and interactive test exercises, deepened students' understanding of molecular structure and chemical reaction process, and helped students master the basic experimental skills and operation, and improved the experimental teaching effect.
Relationship Between Two Kinds of Standard Molar Entropy of Reaction
Investigation shows that ΔrSm(T,c) is actually the molar entropy of reaction at constant volume, which can not be defined by partial molar entropy, and ΔrSm(T,c) and ΔrSm(p) are not equal even at the same state. A new relation between two kinds of standard molar entropies of reaction at c and p, which is different from the widely accepted in textbooks and papers, is deduced through strict mathematical treatment. Other related standard molar thermodynamic functions of reaction are also presented and used to confirm the new results.
Reform and Practice of Chemical History Curriculum Based on Research Study
The paper introduced the application of Research Study in the reform and practice of chemical history curriculum. New curriculum system covers several modules such as teacher[DK]'s lectures, students' speeches and team performances, etc. In the practice of the new curriculum, the students experienced the process of knowledge internalization, and mastered the methods of Research Study. The practice also indicated that through the reform of the curriculum mentioned above, the students' abilities of scientific thought and scientific quality were fostered, their teamwork abilities were cultivated and their learning interests were initiated.
