Abstract Focusing on the core requirement to enhance students' professional abilities, we modularized the teaching content of bioinorganic chemistry considering the class teaching practical experience, which followed the concept of modularization of the specialized curriculum of "frontier guidance+thematic discussion+project practice", and took "structure-nature-activity relation" as the clue. Meanwhile, we combine problem-oriented learning with case teaching in the practical teaching. Results showed that most students thought the modular teaching mode worked better for understanding the theoretical knowledge and improving the enthusiasm to participate in project training.
