Abstract Based on the characteristics of high altitude and low atmospheric pressure in Liupanshui area, a simulation experiment of pressure swing distillation process with local characteristics was set up. The operating pressure of the low pressure column is set to the atmospheric pressure in Liupanshui area. Taking the separation of methyl acetate-methanol azeotrope by pressure swing distillation as an example, the distillation sequence and process were determined by phase diagram. The influences of feed position, reflux ratio and number of trays on annual total cost (TAC) were discussed. It has good teaching effect for students to master chemical technology and economic analysis. At the same time, it provides effective guarantee for training students' engineering practice ability and serving local economy.
