Abstract In the course teaching of chemical process design, the achievement of scientific research project "ammonia-based flue gas desulfurization process design project" was transformed into a typical teaching case, and combined with the modern design method. The chemical simulation software Aspen Plus was also introduced to design the chemical process, so that students can understand the gas-liquid contact process involving the phase absorption process, the selection and application of separation sequences, energy matching and integration optimization more intuitively. This teaching method can explain the complex chemical design process thoroughly, make theory teaching more vivid, and improve the teaching quality. Most important of all, it can improve the students' actual engineering design ability.
