Study on Science Normal Students' Use of Curriculum Materials: The Case of a University in Guangzhou

Abstract  Based on the "Questionnaire on the Use of Curriculum Materials by Science Normal Students", this paper investigated the situation of the use of curriculum materials by 167 science normal students in a university in Guangzhou during their education practice. It was found that the science normal students showed good condition of curriculum materials use in all dimensions, but not at a very high level. The normal students with different majors were significantly different in the dimensions of "scientific inquiry", "STSE" and "teacher learning"; the normal students in different level of practice schools showed significant difference in the dimension of "STSE"; the normal students in different teaching grades had no significant difference in each dimension; the normal students with or without tutor experience demonstrated significant differences in the dimensions of "scientific inquiry", "STSE" and "teacher learning". Finally, the article put forward some suggestions on science normal education.
