Abstract The conducting polymers as the supercapacitor electrode materials can be introduced into the undergraduate teaching experiment. This paper designed a comprehensive experiment:electrochemical deposition preparation and characterization of polyaniline nanoarray. Firstly, the conductive polyaniline nanoarray can be obtained using electrochemical deposition method. The chemical structure, morphology and electrochemical properties of polyaniline nanoarray were characterized by the ultraviolet-visible spectrum, Raman spectrum, scanning electron microscope and electrochemical workstation, respectively. The experiment can make the students understand and grasp the reaction mechanism and synthetic method of electrochemical deposition for conductive polymers. On the other hand, the experiment also makes the students learn more large instruments and equipment operation, and help them to improve the practical operation ability. This comprehensive experiment is a good combination of chemical preparation and material application. The method is simple, short time-consuming and good reproducibility. It can be used as a comprehensive inquiry experiment for polymer undergraduates
