Abstract Based on the idea of properties of organic compounds determined by their structure, a teaching method about the comparison of structure, properties and reactivity between alcohol, phenol, ether compounds and halogenated hydrocarbon oriented by structural analysis is applied which can help students understand and further memorize the chemical properties of all the above organic compounds.
