Abstract By analyzing the shortcomings of concentrated sulfuric acid or phosphorus pentoxide as a catalyst, this paper used anhydrous aluminum chloride to catalyze ethanol to ethylene in 120~130℃. Then this article discussed the reaction mechanism. On the basis of teaching demonstration experiment, this paper also optimized the device, and obtained good results.
