Abstract The differences between traditional education and innovative education are compared, and the necessity of using problem-driven teaching method is also analyzed in this paper. The implementation process and some problems of problem-driven teaching method are introduced by example of colloid chemistry. Problem-driven teaching method can effectively mobilize students' interest and enthusiasm in self-learning and self-exploration. Classroom discussion atmosphere is active, and teaching objectives can be effectively achieved.
