Abstract Under the requirement of cultivating innovative talents in higher education, the lecture-styled, flipped and bipartite classroom teaching modes were practiced and explored in physical chemistry curriculum, combined with the advanced techniques and methods for domestic and foreign education. The results of teaching effectiveness showed that the open teaching mode is more favorable to improve the quality of curriculum teaching and the bipartite teaching mode is more suitable for our students to learn physical chemistry, comparing with the traditional teaching.
