Sodium-organic battery is a new type of secondary battery using organic compounds as the electrode materials. However, organics used in sodium ion batteries also encounter some issues, such as low redox potential, high solubility in the electrolyte, and low conductivity. In response, altering the aromatic system/attaching electron-withdrawing groups could enhance the redox potential, constructing polymers could reduce solubility, and incorporating a conductive matrix could increase the conductivity. This paper focuses on carbonyl compounds as the electrode materials for sodium ion batteries and introduces the application of the carbonyl compounds/polymers, the complexes formed with conductive substrates and flexible electrodes in sodium ion batteries.

According to the training programs and targets of application-oriented talents in our school, the course reform of physical chemistry is implemented in order to enhance the ability of students who can master and apply knowledge with ease. Based on the traditional teaching method, the two novel modes, the flipped learning and the case-based teaching, are both introduced to stimulate the students’ enthusiasm and creation when they study physical chemistry. The elaborate operating process is set forth via listing the colligative property of dilute solution as the typical example, contributing toilluminatethe application of flipped learning and case-based teaching in the physical chemistry course. Students are absolutely immerged and indulged in physical chemistry, so that the approving educational quality could be reached through the interaction between teachers and students.

In the teaching of Analytical Chemistry, in order to achieve the goal of education, the ideological and political elements are fully explored and combined with the teaching content. By introducing the method of mind mapping, a bridge between ideological and political elements and teaching content would be built, by which students can not only grasp the whole knowledge quickly, but also improve their ideological moral qualities. This paper evaluates the teaching effects and finds the existing problems by analyzing students’ performance, which can provide certain reference points for the organic combination of ideological and political education and undergraduate chemistry teaching.

A novel electrochromic (EC) compound of N,N-di(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-amino-9,9-dimethylfluorene was synthesized by using triphenylamine derivative as a precursor via Ullman reaction. The structure and electrochemical properties of the compound were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The EC performance of the compound was deeply investigated by spectroelectrochemistry with combining an electrochemical workstation with an UV-visible spectrum. This work fully reflects the scientific thinking mode of “synthesis-characterization-analysis” and breaks the traditional characteristic mode of single instrument. While making students understand the knowledge of synthetic chemistry and frontier academic research, it also improves students’ basic experimental skills and ability of applying subject knowledge comprehensively.

There are few research results of instructional design based on scientific argumentation. Moreover, the level of argumentation of science teachers is generally low, and the teachers have not developed the usual argumentation habits. The article focuses on the results of international empirical research on this topic through literature review. It is found that pre-service science teachers have different understandings of scientific argumentation, and the experience of scientific argumentation has an impact on the pre-service science teacher’s view of the nature of science, scientific concepts and argumentation ability. Based on the literature summary, suggestions are made from three aspects: professional curriculum setting for cultivating argumentation ability, teaching of socioscientific issues and strengthening content knowledge.

In order to improve the teaching effect of flipped classroom in the chemistry experiment class in medical university, SPOC online learning activities are combined with the process design of flipped classroom. The framework of teaching mode is built from four parts: course objective and content design, teaching strategy design, learning activity design and teaching evaluation design. In the specific teaching experiment project, the teaching procedure of knowledge imparting, internalization and expansion are elaborated. This mode breaks the barrier of time and space in experimental teaching, and emphasizes the creation of situation related to chemistry and medicine in teaching design. The results show that SPOC flipped classroom teaching is conducive to stimulating students’ enthusiasm for participation, promoting the development of thinking ability and the improvement of hands-on ability, and significantly improving the teaching effect.

Show Abstract ( 31 )
The shifts of chemical equilibrium are very important in physical chemistry. The stability conditions of equilibrium play an important role in classical thermodynamics, but they are seldom used to deal with chemical equilibrium problems. In this paper, the stability conditions of equilibrium of a simple uniform isolation system are derived according to the thermodynamic theory. The stability conditions are used to predict the influence of temperature and total pressure on the chemical equilibrium shifts. It is concluded that changing temperature and total pressure can make the chemical equilibrium shift towards stable equilibrium. This method is very simple and deepens our understanding of stable equilibrium. At the same time, the limitation of this method has been pointed out.
