Preparation and Application of Probe Based on Azobenzene Compounds for Copper Ions and Experimental Teaching Research

Abstract Azo compound-2,2′-diaminoazobenzene was synthesized from o-phenylenediamine under the oxidation of potassium superoxide. The coordination interaction and quantitative relationship between 2,2′-diaminoazobenzene and copper ion was analyzed by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry. The azo compound was prepared into test paper and applied to the determination of copper ion in actual water samples. A comprehensive experiment was designed on the basis of the experiment. The experiment contents were divided into three parts according to the theme: synthesis of azo compounds, determination of the composition and stability constant of azo and copper complexes, preparation of copper detection test paper and visual detection of copper in water samples. The experiment covers the relevant knowledge points and operation of organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and analytical chemistry, which is suitable for senior undergraduates.
