Abstract Digital technology such as digital microscopy and time-lapse photography can be applied to the oxygen absorption corrosion experiment of iron to help students observe the detailed phenomenon and change process. In the teaching of “probing into the mystery of corrosion rate curve of steel pipe pile in ocean engineering”, oxygen absorption corrosion experiment supported by digital technology can promote students to build cognitive models of uniform corrosion and local corrosion, so as to achieve the teaching objectives of the subject.
