Abstract Based on the research model of practical knowledge level, a self-designed questionnaire was implemented to investigate the levels and influence factors of practial knowledge of 271students in chemistry major in Hebei Province. The study found that the current level of practical knowledge of normal university students in chemistry major is at the intermediate level. There is a certain correlation among the five dimensions of practical knowledge, restricting and influencing mutually. Accumulation of teaching experience, pre-university learning experience, their beloved teachers, observation of the quality courses, analysis of teaching case, skills training by micro-teaching are the main factors that affect the practical knowledge of normal students in chemistry major.
