Abstract In acid-base equilibrium and complexation equilibrium, distribution fraction is used to illustrate distribution of all types of components under various conditions. And predominance area diagram (PAD) can be drawn accordingly. Using PAD, it is simple, intuitive, and convenient to analyse dominance distribution. Furthermore, PAD can also be used to resolve many problems related to equilibrium and titration. In this paper, the authors try to discuss plotting and application of PAD in analytical chemistry teaching combined with some specific examples.
