Education scholars at home and abroad have paid more attention to scientific writing ability. As one of the typical forms of scientific writing, the quality of experimental reports is often neglected in teaching. This research proposes that experimental report writing ability should include three dimensions: the completeness, the standardization, and the scientificalness. Based on the experimental tasks of a physical chemistry course, an evaluation tool with good reliability and validity for physical chemistry experimental report writing ability was designed.

Taking preparation of ethyl acetate as the experimental content and adopting a photo-assisted method, the writing of the experimental report was reformed. The specific method is: during the whole experiment, students are required to use mobile phones to take pictures of the quality and state of solid materials and the volume of liquid materials; the effects of the construction of distillation and reflux devices, the direction of condensate, the position of mercury balls, and the dry state information. After the experiment, the pictures taken during the experiment are displayed in the form of a flowchart; the photos related to the material data and status are sorted out; and the process photos are edited and beautified according to the format of a professional journal. The results of practice show that the new method can effectively prevent students from plagiarizing experimental reports with each other; the process of re-editing pictures can make students familiar with the experimental content to the greatest extent; finally, the experimental reports with pictures and texts help teachers judge whether students have mastered the teaching content or not.

The Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of 4-BrPhCOCH3 and PhB(OH)2 with β-cyclodextrin ligand in water is a green alternative to conventional methods using poisonous phosphine ligands and organic solvents. The effects of the ratio of Na2PdCl4/β-CD, the amount of Na2PdCl4 or PhB(OH)2, reaction temperature and time on the yield were investigated by the single factor experiment. By guiding students to recognize the β-CD structure and discuss the mechanism of this reaction, our teaching practice not only make them realize the importance of green chemistry, but also stimulates their interests in scientific research. Moreover, such a reaction is an environmentally-benign and mild experiment with short reaction time, high yield and good repeatability, thus applicable completely to the undergraduate curriculum.

The course of analytical chemistry in traditional Chinese medicine has some problems, such as a focus on teaching, less interaction between teachers and students, and poor teaching effect. Therefore, this paper changes the traditional teaching mode to the “online and offline (O2O)” hybrid teaching mode. Teachers use Tsinghua online network platform, rain class, China MOOC and other network resources to carry out curriculum construction, and reform the classroom teaching of analytical chemistry. Additionally, they reconstruct the teaching philosophy and teaching process, turn over the role of teachers and students, integrate online and offline teaching organically, and use online learning resources and test platform. The above things can help students learn freely in time and space to achieve the purpose of personalized and differentiated learning for students.

In acid-base equilibrium and complexation equilibrium, distribution fraction is used to illustrate distribution of all types of components under various conditions. And predominance area diagram (PAD) can be drawn accordingly. Using PAD, it is simple, intuitive, and convenient to analyse dominance distribution. Furthermore, PAD can also be used to resolve many problems related to equilibrium and titration. In this paper, the authors try to discuss plotting and application of PAD in analytical chemistry teaching combined with some specific examples.
