Abstract Taking preparation of ethyl acetate as the experimental content and adopting a photo-assisted method, the writing of the experimental report was reformed. The specific method is: during the whole experiment, students are required to use mobile phones to take pictures of the quality and state of solid materials and the volume of liquid materials; the effects of the construction of distillation and reflux devices, the direction of condensate, the position of mercury balls, and the dry state information. After the experiment, the pictures taken during the experiment are displayed in the form of a flowchart; the photos related to the material data and status are sorted out; and the process photos are edited and beautified according to the format of a professional journal. The results of practice show that the new method can effectively prevent students from plagiarizing experimental reports with each other; the process of re-editing pictures can make students familiar with the experimental content to the greatest extent; finally, the experimental reports with pictures and texts help teachers judge whether students have mastered the teaching content or not.
