Abstract Taking the preparation of electrochemical sensor as an example, this paper discussed the cultivation of students' creative ability in the context of STEAM education and “new engineering”, which mainly adopts the promotion mode of cultivating students' basic skills with a single topic, enhancing their professional ability with multiple themes, and improving their comprehensive creative ability of interdisciplinary integration of “Internet+project”. Through the experiment, the teaching method under this mode has achieved certain results.
