Development and Application of Science Writing Heuristic Tools in Scientific Experiment Teaching

Abstract In order to improve students' ability in experimental teaching, Brain Hand et al. developed a scientific writing tool for experimental teaching, which was Science Writing Heuristic(SWH) based on scientific language and classroom inquiry. Through “problem, method, observation, opinion, evidence, judgment, change”, SWH makes the scientific content connect language activities to stimulate students to participate in the argument and understand the science. In the experimental teaching, the application of SWH has been influenced by a variety of factors. SWH's research “from frame construction to specific implementation” and “from theory to practice” will inspire the development of other teaching or learning tools.
