Abstract The amino acid-catalyzed asymmetric Aldol reaction is a research hotspot in the field of asymmetric catalysis, which is transformed into a design innovative experiment and offered to third-year students in the college of chemistry. Through the exploration of different reaction conditions such as substrates, catalysts and solvents, students’ understanding of concepts and mechanisms such as chirality and enamine catalysis is deepened, and students’ scientific research ability and innovative ability are trained.
