Abstract This study analyzed and contrasted the curriculum standards of the Science in primary school with the requirements of the chemical knowledge content in the syllabus of Science·Chemistry in the five-year specialty primary education major, as well as the chemical knowledge content sought in the teaching materials of Science and Science·Chemistry. At the same time, this study discussed several problems existing in the chemistry course of primary education at the five-year specialty level and put forward several suggestions such as selecting the appropriate course teaching content, strengthening the construction of chemistry experiment and chemistry teaching material, establishing a new module of theoretical course and a new system of experimental teaching for chemical course construction.
