Both oxygen and ozone have in common the production of aerobic active species to speed up the reaction. At the same time, due to the different structures of the allotropes, the role of catalysts in their respective catalytic oxidation processes is different.

The calculation of titration error is an important content in analysis chemistry. In most textbooks, there are too multifarious calculation formulas of titration error to be grasped for students. To address the problem, we redefined titration error by using the volume ratio between titrant solution and analyte solution. Further more, general calculation formula of acid-base titration error was constructed according to proton balancing principle. It would be achievable to precisely calculate titration error in various acid-base titrations by applying the above formula.

Experimental investigation combining theoretical understanding is of great significance to the education in chemistry. In this paper, the reduction of copper oxide in hydrogen and carbon monoxide atmosphere was explored by using in-situ X-ray diffraction technique (in-situ XRD). The experimental result found that copper oxide was gradually reduced to cuprous oxide and copper in hydrogen or carbon monoxide atmosphere from 300 ℃ and these three phases existed at the same time. All the copper oxides was converted into copper until the temperature rose to 450~500 ℃. The experimental result showed that the reduction of copper oxide is not a homogeneous process by gradually reducing CuO → Cu2O → Cu, indicating that the pure cuprous oxide phase which could be obtained theoretically was not obtained in the experiment, and the reason for which was presented. In addition, it is of great importance that advanced scientific instrument is applied to the teaching-learning activity for undergraduates.

A method is proposed to calculate the dissociation constant of the indicator without measuring the concentration of the indicator and just by measuring the absorbance of the indicator. The dissociation equilibrium constant of bromothymol blue indicator is determined to be pKa=7.24 by adjusting the pH value of the solution to make the indicator present different colors. The results are consistent with those of literature value pKa=7.30. Through this experiment, students can not only master the chemical dissociation equilibrium of indicators, but also better understand and grasp the working principle and operation method of ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. By organically combining the principles of chemical analysis with instrumental analysis, a simple and efficient method is successfully developed to determine the dissociation constant of indicator by spectrophotometry experiment. This method not only improves the students’ practical ability, but also cultivates their innovative ability and enhances their learning interest.

The reasons for the academic discredit are found to include unhealthy social influence, the pressure and stimulus of the university regulations, limited management of supervisors and the postgraduates themselves. However, the supervisors have taken repeating validation, using original data as supporting information and co-completing experiment to solve academic discredit. The study shows that despite the chance of academic discredit, the adoption of certain measures can prevent academic discredit and establish credit.
