Abstract Focusing on the connotative teaching of physical chemistry under the professional background, a series of representative and typical cases are selected in the field of disaster prevention and mitigation, which are based on the training program of groundwater science and engineering, literature research and interviews with relevant full-time teachers and students. And in this way, the organic integrations of physical chemistry with the general courses of disaster prevention and mitigation, and professional core courses are constructed. The attraction and appeal of physical chemistry will be better enhanced, and further, it can promote professional teaching and improve students’ professional accomplishment.
