Abstract A new type of closed bipolar electrode system was proposed for conveniently and visually determining vitamin C content in real samples. In this system, an ITO electrode with electrochromic Prussian blue films (PB/ITO) was used as the signal electrode, and the concentration of vitamin C in the samples was measured by colorimetric method. Compared the results with those obtained by titration and high performance liquid chromatography, the proposed method is more reliable, simple, practical and easy to reset, demonstrating a strong potential in applications.
