Abstract Electrode potential is an important physical quantity in redox reaction, and the understanding and calculation of its concept is the key and difficult point in teaching. Based on inorganic chemistry exercises, this paper combines electrode potential with four balances, and develops students’ thinking through multiple solutions of one problem, aiming to help students consolidate their knowledge, use it flexibly, draw inferences from one instance, and improve their learning efficiency and scientific thinking ability, deepen the understanding and grasp of the basic principles of chemistry.
