Abstract Infrared spectrum was used in the polymer physics experiment teaching, its applications in polymer identification, molecular conformation, crystallinity and compatibility characterization were described by some examples. The setting of the experiments can help students to understand the principle and method of infrared spectrum analysis, learn to use the method to characterize the structure of polymer at different scales, stimulate their enthusiasm for learning, and develop the ability to use relevant knowledge to solve practical problems.
