Abstract With the theme of “the guide to the use of 84 disinfectant”, the teaching of “the nature of hypochlorite” in senior high school chemistry was carried out. Students try to understand the nature and bleaching principle of hypochlorite by completing the following five tasks: “one picture to explain the disinfectant” “explore the relationship between the bleaching effect of 84 disinfectant and the pH value” “explore the relationship between the bleaching effect of 84 disinfectant and light” “the relationship between the bleaching effect of 84 disinfectant and temperature” and “will there be chlorine gas in the mixture of 84 disinfectant and alcohol”, It has trained the students' ability of literature search, experiment ability and the development of students' high-order thinking ability. The key to successfully complete the project teaching is the combination of literature review and students' experiments, in this way, students can complete the internalization of hypochlorite properties and other related knowledge in solving real problems.
