Abstract This article is based on the principle of chemical equilibrium, through simple calculations to explain the reaction mechanism of copper hydroxide dissolved in ammonia, and at the same time based on the valence bond theory and Jahn-Teller effect to illustrate the formation process of [Cu(NH₃)₄]²⁺ and other copper ion complexes.
