Abstract Pluralistic teaching of professional English for chemical engineering based on first principles of instruction has been designed and implemented. Backward teaching design was applied to devise teaching process of the course. The flipped classroom teaching was carried out through the design and production of micro-Lecture. The Superstar Learning APP was used for enhancing teaching interaction and teaching evaluation. The effective teaching of “Effective, Efficient and Engaging Instruction” is basically achieved.
