Abstract Taking the self-made instrument project of photocatalysis experimental device and supporting device of Huzhou University as an example, this paper introduces the implementation process of the self-made instrument project, and explores the boosting effect of the implementation process on the cultivation of students' ractical and innovative ability. Self-made experimental teaching equipment can improve the enthusiasm of students to participate in the experiment, increase the number of students using instruments, stimulate the enthusiasm of students to improve experimental equipment, and promote the cultivation of students' practical and innovative ability.
