Herein, we share a skillful method for learning of the various structures of sugars by combining left-hand gestures with a poem of five-character quatrain. The poem is: “Luo Zhuo Pu Gu Ta, Ganlu Ai Banru. He A Mu Laisu, Tongtang Guo Shan-gu”, which contains common twelve aldoses and six ketoses. Through the left-hand gestures, not only can you quickly write the Fischer projections of various common natural sugars, but also accurately draw the corresponding Haworth formulas and the chair conformation. It is worthy of promotion in sugar teaching.

Show Abstract ( 15 )
Based on the reform and practice of SPOC teaching mode,“Independent learning+class teaching+small-scale discussion”, the ideological and political elements ofinorganic and analytical chemistry are summarized and refined. When the teachers prepare and design their lessons, the ideological and political contents are integrated into the whole process of SPOC teaching. And the teaching features of the course are characterized through the “three combinations” teaching method (combination the ideological and political contents with majors; combination the ideological and political contents with flipped-classroom; combination the ideological and political contents with exams). By anonymous questionnaire survey, the course reform had been recognized by students and it is a useful way of good teaching performance by ideological and political education. The statistics shows that most of the university freshmen accepted the ideological and political education totally under the SPOC teaching mode.

Show Abstract ( 21 )
A new comprehensive designing experiment of analytical chemistry, application of paper-based colorimetric analysis for determination of sulfur ion content in liquor, formed by the transformation of scientific research achievements was demonstrated. The coordination between sulfur ion and the tetrasulfophthalocyanine iron (Fe(Ⅲ)TSPc), which is a peroxide mimetic enzyme, in the axial position of phthalocyanine ring plane and the central iron atom, can promote the heterolytic oxygen-oxygen bond cleavage. The formation of intermediate high-valent iron(Ⅳ)-oxo species further increase the reaction rate and darken the color of TMB oxidation product on the filter paper. Base on the relationship between color intensity and sulfur ion content, this method realizes simple, rapid, real-time and reliable detection of sulfur ions. This experiment integrates knowledge of chemistry, optics, computer software technology, etc. And Low laboratory hardware requirements make it easy to popularize. Moderate experimental operation, novel content and strong comprehensiveness also help to develop students' ability to use experimental knowledge flexibly.

In general chemistry lab, a simple photometer was constructed by using monochromatic light-emitting diode (LED), Lego bricks and other electronic components. Two ways of construction were illustrated, featuring the simple structure, visualized light path and low cost. The concentration of Fe(Ⅲ) was measured by the student-made photometer, and the experimental data were compared with that given by a commercial photometer. Within a certain range of concentration, there is a good linear correlation between the absorbance and the concentrations of standard ferric solutions, which well meets the requirements of the basic laboratory teaching. These results reveal that such a simple student-made photometer can be used as an alternative to the commercial photometer in laboratory teaching. Two years of teaching practice and improvement demonstrate that using the student-made photometer in teaching of quantitative determination of Fe(Ⅲ) can inspire the students' interests and enthusiasm of learning, enhance the hands-on abilities, independent thinking and problem-solving, thus improve teaching effects.

This mode fully takes advantages of these two resource platforms, and flexible combinations of online teaching and offline teaching methods are applied in this mode due to the carefully refined course contents. This mode has been implemented in the course of experiment design and data process for 3 years, which is a core course in light chemical engineering majors in higher vocational education. The facts show that this mode is efficient in promoting the learning initiative of the students and improving the teaching results. This practice could provide an example for the blended teaching reform in similar courses.

The current constructed online English teaching resources of chemistry experiments are low in matching and relatively scarce. In order to solve these problems, three different types of teaching resources, namely English audio courseware, modularize experimental videos and examination database, are constructed for foreign medical students. The blending use of the resources offline and online preview materials through Rain Class assists the traditional chemistry laboratory teaching so that the transformation from “centralized, fixed time, fix place” traditional mode to “modularized, fragmented, informationized” blended learning mode is realized. The teaching resources and teaching methods are enriched. The teaching order is improved. The enthusiasm and initiative of foreign medical students in chemical knowledge and skill learning are raised. The virtuous cycle between teaching and learning is formed. The international teaching quality in chemistry experiment courses are improved effectively.

The Ph.D.CEP program, initiated in 1999, is the original creation of MIT. The model of this program is relatively new, and also typical and representative. It breaks the constraints of the binary-division paradigm from the pendulum phenomenon, and attains goal of multi-paradigm-integration. In practice, the multi-integrated logic is characterized by historical origins, education objective, content and approaches. Under the background of the fierce competition in the new industrial revolution, we can break the binary-division paradigm and build new mechanical postgraduate student cultivating mode by renewing talent cultivating ideas, training cross-discipline teaching staff and constructing university-enterprise cooperation mechanism etc.
