Abstract Based on the research and experimental teaching experience, a fine chemical experimentcourse wasdesigned, which is entitled “The Preparation and Properties of Ceramifiable Flame Retardant EVA Composite”. In this experiment, EVA was used as the base material, PL and GD as the ceramifiable filler (CF), OMMT as the anti dripping agent and MCA as the flame retardant. The factors affecting the flame retardant effect, ceramic strength and mechanical properties of the composite were optimized, and the appropriate composition of the formula was determined. This experimental design combines scientific research content, can stimulate students to take part in the experimental design and explore the unknown interest independently, is conducive to the cultivation of students' innovation ability and the ability to solve practical problems.
